Everything you need to know about BOLLE non-alcoholic wines, from our unique production process to serving suggestions.
About BOLLE & Our Process
What makes BOLLE different from other non-alcoholic wines?
BOLLE is the world's only twice-fermented non-alcoholic wine. While most non-alcoholic wines simply remove alcohol from regular wine (and often add nasty other ingredients like sugar), we use a proprietary double fermentation process that creates authentic wine complexity without ever producing high alcohol levels. This patent-pending method results in a more sophisticated, wine-like taste that has earned us 93 points from Wine Enthusiast - the highest score ever awarded to a non-alcoholic wine. And we don't add any sugar, color, flavor or aroma.
How is BOLLE made?
BOLLE uses a unique twice-fermented process developed over multiple years of R&D by our founder Roberto Vanin. The first fermentation creates the wine's foundational flavors. The wine is then de-alcoholized and then the second fermentation adds depth and character while keeping alcohol levels naturally low (less than 0.5%). This process preserves the authentic taste, texture, and mouthfeel of traditional wine, unlike dealcoholized wines that lose these qualities during alcohol removal.
We are the only company in the world to re-ferment de-alcoholized wine.
What does "lees-aged" mean in the Grand Reserve?
Lees aging is a traditional winemaking technique where wine rests on dead yeast cells after fermentation. Our Grand Reserve is aged on lees for 9 months. This adds complexity, creaminess, and depth to the wine. BOLLE Grand Reserve is the world's only non-alcoholic wine to be lees-aged after the de-alcoholization process, making it truly unique in the market.
Where is BOLLE made?
BOLLE is crafted in several different wineries in Germany, Italy and California. Our two full-time winemakers based in Europe and California oversee the creation of all our wines.
Is BOLLE vegan?
Yes, BOLLE is 100% vegan. We use no animal products in our production process. We follow sustainable winemaking practices, and our grapes are carefully sourced from quality vineyards.

What does 93 points from Wine Enthusiast mean?
Wine Enthusiast is one of the world's most respected wine publications. Their 100-point rating scale is the industry standard for wine quality. Our Sparkling Rosé's 93-point score (awarded October 2025) was the highest rating they have given to a non-alcoholic wine. Our wines have since received even higher scores at other prestigious competitions, including 96 points and Best of Show at WSWA Access Live. Health & Lifestyle
Does BOLLE contain any alcohol?
BOLLE contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume (ABV), which legally classifies it as non-alcoholic in the UK, US, EU and most countries worldwide. For context, this is similar to or less than the trace amounts found in ripe bananas, orange juice, or kombucha.
Can I drink BOLLE if I'm pregnant?
While BOLLE contains less than 0.5% alcohol (similar to many fruit juices), we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider about any dietary choices during pregnancy. Many pregnant women choose BOLLE as a sophisticated alternative for celebrations and social occasions, but individual circumstances vary.
Can I drink BOLLE if I'm driving?
Yes. BOLLE's alcohol content (less than 0.5% ABV) is so low that you would need to drink an impossible amount in a very short time to have any measurable effect. It's completely safe to drink and drive. You're consuming similar trace amounts of alcohol as you would from ripe fruit or bread.
Is non-alcoholic wine healthy?
BOLLE offers several health benefits compared to alcoholic wine:
- Lower calories: Approximately 60-70% fewer calories than traditional wine
- No hangover: Enjoy wine's taste without next-day effects
- Antioxidants: Retains beneficial polyphenols from grapes
- No alcohol-related health risks: Safe for daily consumption
- Hydration: Won't dehydrate you like alcoholic wine
How many calories are in BOLLE?
BOLLE contains approximately 15 calories per 100ml, compared to 80-100 calories in traditional wine. That's about 80% fewer calories.
Can I drink BOLLE if I'm sober/in recovery?
Many people in recovery choose BOLLE because it allows them to participate in social occasions and enjoy wine's taste without compromising their sobriety. However, this is a deeply personal decision. We recommend discussing with your support network or counselor, as some people in recovery prefer to avoid anything wine-related, while others find non-alcoholic alternatives helpful for their journey.
Taste & Serving
Does non-alcoholic wine taste like real wine?
For BOLLE yes - this is where BOLLE truly stands out. Our twice-fermented process creates authentic wine complexity, mouthfeel, and finish that most non-alcoholic wines lack. This is why we've earned 93 points from Wine Enthusiast and why Michelin-starred restaurants choose BOLLE. While dealcoholized wines often taste thin or sweet after alcohol removal, BOLLE is crafted from the beginning to deliver genuine wine character. The proof? Blind tastings where 95% of tasters can't tell it's non-alcoholic.
Which BOLLE wine should I try first?
It depends on your preference:
- Sparkling Rosé (93pts) - Perfect for celebrations, aperitifs, or if you love Champagne/Prosecco. Elegant, sophisticated, crowd-pleasing.
- Blanc de Blancs Sparkling - Crisp, fresh, versatile. Great for toasting or pairing with seafood and light dishes.
- Still Chardonnay (Gold Medal) - If you prefer still white wine. Rich, complex, perfect with chicken, fish, or creamy pasta.
- Grand Reserve - Our most sophisticated wine for serious wine lovers. Lees-aged for 9 months, complex and elegant.
Can't decide? We've now got 375ml bottles available in the two sparklings to help you choose.
How should I serve BOLLE?
Temperature:
- Sparkling wines (Rosé, Blanc de Blancs): Serve chilled at 6-8°C (43-46°F)
- Still Chardonnay: Serve lightly chilled at 8-10°C (46-50°F)
- Grand Reserve: Serve slightly chilled at 8-10°C (46-50°F)
Glassware: Use proper wine glasses - Champagne flutes or white wine glasses work beautifully. Proper glassware enhances the aromatics and experience.
Storage: Store bottles on their side in a cool, dark place. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within 3-5 days.
What foods pair well with BOLLE?
Sparkling Rosé: Oysters, sushi, smoked salmon, strawberries, light appetizers, Asian cuisine
Blanc de Blancs: Seafood, shellfish, goat cheese, salads, chicken, lighter pasta dishes
Still Chardonnay: Roasted chicken, grilled fish, creamy pasta, risotto, pork, soft cheeses
Grand Reserve: Fine dining, complex dishes, aged cheeses, mushroom dishes, sophisticated cuisine
Can I use BOLLE for cooking?
Absolutely! BOLLE works beautifully in any recipe calling for white wine. Use it for risotto, pan sauces, poached fish, or deglazing. Because there's minimal alcohol to burn off, the wine's flavor comes through even more clearly in your dishes.
